UX Frontiers at TWP

I am excited to add a presentation about user experience to the emerging resurgence of the Toledo region tech ecosystem.

On Wednesday, April 10, I will be presenting “The Next Frontiers in User Experience” at this month’s Toledo Web Professionals / Google Developer Group Toledo meetup.

  • Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 6pm-8pm
  • BiG Fab Lab, 1234 North Main Street (Suite D), Bowling Green, Ohio
  • Come to the BiG Fab Lab entrance on the north side (in the rear) of the mall. Someone will let you in.
  • Please RSVP on Meetup.com so we know how much pizza to order.

Information technology is increasingly changing how we work, live, and play. Cutting through the hype of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and cloud computing, as examples, to understand what the impact on people, the workforce, and society can be hard. Keith Instone will use 4 aspects of user experience to help you make sense of emerging technology.

  • User experience as impressions people form when interacting with technology
  • User experience as activities we do to define, design, and deliver great experiences
  • User experience as organizational capabilities to manage customer, employee, resident, and other experiences
  • User experience as communities where we study, teach, and learn about the people and technology

Join Keith as he starts the conversation with a few example technology areas, like AI, and then we can go into other areas like cybersecurity, DevOps, digital marketing or anything else you want to talk about from these UX perspectives.

This talk will be a mash-up of things from GCP All in for Tech, Advances in UX panel, Learning Experience Design podcast, and UX for Change Managers, with some new material for IT infrastructure folks sprinkled in.

You can download a copy of the pre-talk slides (PDF). “Source” links in there for people who don’t believe me or want to learn more. I might still tweak them before and often add notes after, but that PDF will do for now.
