What’s coming up for UX practitioners and professionals in Ohio, April 2023 edition.
Our next meeting of the OhioX UX Roundtable is on Friday the 14th at noon. NEW are Eventbrite events for our 2nd-Friday-monthly-hangouts that you can RSVP for to get reminders of the ones you can make while not getting pestered by me when you cannot. Also, share these events with colleagues who may want to join us on occasion: easy to join us for one without committing to every month.
One item on the agenda for Friday is 24 Hours of UX, an online 24 hour global conversation about the Futures of UX. Ohio is leading the way to wrap up the marathon: Hours 22 & 23 (10pm to Midnight, Wednesday, May 3rd/4th).
- At 10pm, UX Akron is hosting Marc Majers as he presents predictions of the future of UX from his UX Pathways podcast.
- At 11pm, the OhioX UX Roundtable is hosting Joshua Randall as he presents a dystopian future and tells us how to prevent it.
- To attend both, register for the whole day of 24 Hours of UX on Zuddl, the online platform. The cost is only $24, but you can also use discount codes 24HOUX2023OHX or 24HOUX2023Akron to get a ticket for free.
- Check out the program for the full 24 hours (starting at 1am May 3 our time) and join during the day. Be sure to save some energy for Ohio’s late-night sessions! (Late night for us, at least, morning and afternoon for others around the globe.)

- April 19: UX, Product, & A11y Spring Fling Mixer by UX Akron, Cleveland Product Meetup and Cleveland Accessibility.
- April 20: Folding Accessibility into Documentation (online) by the Ohio Society for Technical Communication.
- April 25: MarCom Roundtable (online). “Revolutionizing Search Marketing with Generative AI.”
- April 26: Design Thinking Workshop on User Journey Mapping by IxDA Cincinnati.
- April 28: Student Portfolio Review by AIGA Cleveland.
- May 3: Tech @ Night Toledo. Networking in NW Ohio (yes, during “24 Hours of UX”).
- May 18: Ohio Tech Summit, Columbus. The premier OhioX event of the year: high-profile speakers, tech demos, and networking.
