I am doing a presentation with the Ohio ACMP (Change Management) chapter on April 20th.
- Intersection of UX and OCM
- User Experience and Change Management: Marriage made in Heaven, or just Friends?
- Learn how the UX profession overlaps and interacts with OCM professionals and discuss how the two disciplines can effectively collaborate and succeed on projects and inside organizations.
I will be using a trimmed down Spins on UX to frame the discussion.
April 17 update: I have my third draft of the slides done (what I will be using for the talk).
I have been hanging out in the change / organization development world since 2007, adopting what I have learned to help me be a better UX practitioner and consultant. This is the first time I will be sharing what I know about UX to see if it helps change managers. The origin for the session was when I attended an Ohio ACMP session that talked about personas and shared some of my experience with personas over my career.
I hope to start a conversation about what we have in common and see what we might do together here in Ohio. By coincidence, a thread on ACMP’s global website was started about the relationship between the two practices, so maybe something more will evolve.
