I participated in the OhioX product roundtable about user experience this afternoon (January 20, 2022).
We talked about User Experience (UX) in the context of product management at 3 levels:
- Team: the process, deliverables, and activities people do to define, design, and deliver great experiences for users.
- Organization: the management, org chart, company politics that enable and/or inhibit defining, designing, and delivering great experiences for customers, employees, and others.
- State: how we as a state can have a stronger economy if our companies and other organizations define, design, and deliver great experiences for their users.
We used some of my writings as references to guide the roundtable discussion:
- View: User Experience for Economic Success and Social Impact
- Focus on Users’ Experiences for Digital Transformation
I am a big fan of OhioX and am glad I was able to continue the discussion about the economic impact UX can have on Ohio.
Thanks to Chris, Shawn, Venessa, and Felesia for helping make the roundtable happen.
Also, no one asked about the t-shirts in the background. One is from World Usability Day (the one I attended in Cleveland, I think) and the other is from Industry the Product Conference (which I know was in Cleveland). Both are examples of local Ohio events that have helped us be leaders in UX.
